History of the College

The ‘Cheranmahadevi Acorn’ recognizes our proud heritage and reminds us just how far we’ve come in such a short period of time. In 2005 Sri Balaji Group of institution was a small Teacher Training Institute offering a Diploma course with fifty students.

In 2006, the college started B.ED programme with 100 students and through commitment and dedication, a vibrant campus community has been created in the heart of Cheranmahadevi town for nearly 450 students. All share a passion to become qualified teachers and are given every opportunity to grow and achieve.

Our activities show our extraordinary commitment in achieving the very highest standards in the quality education that Sri Balaji colleges provides.

Principal's Message

Warm greetings to you on behalf of Sri Balaji college of Education & Teacher Training Institute, Cheranmahadevi. Our college is approved by NCTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Tirunelveli.

It gives me immense pleasure in bringing out the brief sketch of aims, objectives, environment, Infrastructure, facilities and faculty of our institution. The prime motive of our institution is to prepare the best teachers as teachers are considered to be the social engineers. The destiny of the nation is shaped in the classrooms.

Hence quality teachers shape the nation as rightly said by Kothari Education commission. Having this in mind a well-planned, and systematically Furnished Infrastructure is constructed and the students are provided with quality education. The institution provides opportunity for the students to develop their skill required for the teaching process. Along with the academic opportunities our students are given opportunities to develop their talents and skills through extracurricular activities and co-curricular activities.
